Be a Rung on the Ladder to a Young Adult's Dream

Ridgewood High School Community Work Program
(A partnership benefiting students and community)

Ridgewood High School's Community Work Program is designed to prepare students with special needs for the adult working world. As business owners, you can provide students with opportunities to learn essential work force skills, further develop teamwork traits, and connect school-based learning to career requirements. Students will be provided job coaching support when necessary. Ms. Stoughton, district Transition Coordinator will maintain communication and support to students and businesses. Students depart from Ridgewood High School to intern/volunteer twice a week from 12:00 to 2:30 P.M. Internships have run from 6 weeks to 6 months. There is no obligation for a business to retain a student volunteer after a six week period.

Receive the benefit of being part of a vital work program that prepares youth with disabilities for the world of work. Bring something wonderful to your business and community while impacting positively on the education of our future workforce.
