Registration for YWCA Session Three Starts December 15

Registration for the next session of YWCA Bergen County programs starts Monday, December 15 at 8:30 a.m. Classes run from January 2 through February 21 at the YWCA’s 112 Oak Street, Ridgewood location, and members can register at, by phone, or in person.

Session three includes new fitness classes such as Sharqui Belly Dance Workout, a bellydance and fitness fusion to develop core strength, stamina and muscle isolation while dancing to Arabic and other global rhythms. Movement@YW fitness now offers Sunday fitness classes including Yoga and Body Sculpting. For active seniors, YWCA Bergen County offers Arthritis Fitness classes, Zumba Gold and Golden Barre/Standing Pilates.

A FREE Children’s Dance Open House will be held from ages 3 to 13 years on Tuesday, December 30th. From 3:15pm to 3:45pm, ages 3 to 4 can drop in for Twinkle Toes. For ages 5 to 7, Ballet I will be held from 3:45 to 4:15pm and Jazz/Tap I from 4:15 to 4:45pm. Ages 8 to 13 can join in for Ballet II/III from 4:45 to 5:15pm and Jazz/Tap ll/lll from 5:15 to 5:45pm. For Ballet classes, no dance shoes are required. For Tap classes, tap or dressy shoes are required. All children participating will receive a complimentary YWCA dance bag. Tap Dance Class for adults will be held in session three for ages 13 and up.

For ages 4 to 8, YWCA Bergen County will be coordinating ski lessons with Campgaw Mountain in Mahwah, NJ. Lessons will be held from January 5th through January 26th. Beginner and intermediate programs are available with an option to purchase additional pass and rental, allowing participants to stay after lesson to ski until the closing of their lesson night. The YWCA offers dozens of other fitness, wellness, and enrichment programs for kids, teens, adults, and seniors, as well as American Red Cross certified swim classes for swimmers at every age and level.
