E-NOTICE - IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT STORM DEBRIS PICKUP, POWER OUTAGES AND WATER CONSERVATION

There are several ways to have your storm debris disposed of, which are as follows:

*Put out storm debris with your regular yard waste pickup.

*Put storm debris into the planting strip of your property (between the sidewalk and curb) or at the edge of your property, if you do not have sidewalks or curbs. Our yard waste crews will pick up your storm debris, as time allows.

*Bring your storm debris to the Lakeview Compost Center (at the end of Lakeview Drive) from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. You will have to show your driver’s license to confirm you are a Ridgewood resident.

*Do NOT bag storm debris, unless it is in biodegradable paper bags.

*Please do NOT bring your storm debris to the Recycling Center at this time, due to the volume.

In addition, please observe the following guidelines to avoid further confusion, damage or injury:

*Please be patient if you are putting your yard waste out into the planting strip.
*Ensure debris is placed in area clear of overhead power/cable lines as well as low hanging tree limbs.
*Do not place debris near gas or water valves, water meters, fire hydrants, fencing, mailboxes, etc.
*Do not call to request that trucks alter their scheduled routes; ALL areas will be picked up.
*Get debris out for pick up as promptly as possible. If you miss the first pass, do not be concerned – our crews will continue to pick up storm debris for the next couple of weeks, as time allows.
*Please note that different types of debris may be picked up at different times.

CLEARING OF ROADS WITH DOWNED TREES

Our Parks and Shade Tree Divisions, along with our Streets Division, are working diligently to remove the downed trees from the streets. They will continue to work during the day and into the evening, until all streets have been cleared. CAUTION: ALWAYS ASSUME ANY WIRE ON THE GROUND IS LIVE AND STAY AWAY! CALL PSE&G AND IDENTIFY ITS LOCATION SO THAT THEY CAN SEND SOMEONE TO CHECK IT. Downed trees which are caught in wires will be attended to after PSE&G has determined whether or not the wires are live.

PSE&G UPDATES

Some areas of Ridgewood are without power. If you do not have power and have not already done so, please call PSE&G Directly at 1-800-436-7734 or go to https://outagecenter.pseg.com/.

Please do not call the Police for power outage updates; instead consult the PSE&G website for updates.

WATER USAGE

Ridgewood Water has switched to auxiliary power in locations throughout the water service area that are out of power. To maintain pressure for firefighting, all Ridgewood Water customers are asked to please conserve water during this period. Water Saving Tips can be found on the Ridgewood Water website, water.ridgewoodnj.net, under the Conservation tab. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

Please continue to stay safe and be well.
